Nigerian society of Chemical Engineers

The Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) UNILAG Student Chapter is a student body created for the transmittance of the aims and objectives of the NSChE national body to future chemical engineers in the University of Lagos. The Society is a member of the Lagos/Ogun Chapter which supports it along with the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Lagos. We have an executive body of students and a staff advisor, who are responsible for pursuance of the goals of the Society. Our mission is to build a department that is complete in the all-round development of industry-relevant chemical engineers. Welcome to the Department of Chemical Engineering!

Society of Petroleum Engineers

Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the oil and gas industry. The University of Lagos SPE Chapter was established in the year 2006 with 54 members, this number has increased to about 650 over the years, spanning across all engineering fields, sciences, business administration, and law. We have a strengthened focus on areas orbiting academic excellence, professional development, health and safety, sustainable development practices, women empowerment, community service, innovation and industry-centric competencies which hit home the idea of true industry value addition.

Nigeria Institute of Civil Engineers Students' Affiliate

NICE-SA is Acronym for Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers- Students Affiliates. It is the umbrella body of Civil Engineering Students in Nigeria under NICE (Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers) which is a Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers. The body was established by NICE to carter for the welfare of the Student members and give them the opportunity to advance their Professional growth while still a student. Specifically, NICE-SA UNILAG is a chapter situated in the University of Lagos with the aim of the catering for the welfare of all students in the department of civil and environmental engineering under the auspices of the University of Lagos Engineering Society and the school managements. At NICE-SA UNILAG, we prioritise the academics, capacity building and well-being of our members, as we work together to create a civil engineering world where all people will live in peace and shared prosperity through partnerships.

The Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers

The department of Mechanical Engineering was among the pioneer departments of the faculty of engineering established in 1964. The aim was to provide the much needed skilled and technical manpower to pilot the affairs of the emerging engineering companies in Nigeria. The department has since them grown and strengthened, turning out graduates who have become seasoned professionals in the field of engineering. The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) is the Mechanical Division of The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). The Institution has full standing authority as derived from the Articles of Association of The Nigerian Society of Engineers and is not a parallel body to the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). Established in December 2002.

University of Lagos Mettalurgical and Materials Engineering Society

The National Association of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering students (NAMMES) Unilag Chapter, an affiliate of its national chapter NAMMES Nigeria is geared towards the acquisition of technological knowledge, skill and excellent academic status for its members, Over the years NAMMES has accomplished these tasks by harnessing the physical, mental, social, cultural and intellectual potentials of our members and providing a conducive atmosphere where qualitative learning, academic freedom, peace, good welfare situation, and great opportunities are promoted as preconditions for the maximum, development of our potentials. NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF SURVEYING AND GEOINFORMATICS STUDENTS

The Surveying Profession is perhaps one of the oldest professional bodies in Nigeria dating back to 1934. The discipline deals with Acquisition, Analysis, Storage, Distribution, Management and Application of spatial-referenced data. NISGS is a student body dedicated to the production of astute, intelligent and innovative individuals by creating a perfect campus condition and also acting as liaison between students, professionals and the staff of the institution having positive interests of students at heart, including the plights and challenges facing the students in the department. It is for these reasons that the NISGS was formed, functioning as a bridge between aspiring/student surveyors and the professionals in the industry.

ASSOCIATION OF SYSTEMS ENGINEERING STUDENTS

The Department of Systems Engineering was the last branch of Engineering formed in the University of Lagos and the first in sub-Sahara Africa. It evolved in the year 2000 from research activities of the Engineering Analysis Unit (EAU) in the institution. The department specializes in engineering modelling and the general deployment of Cybernetics (the science of communications and automatic control systems in both machines and living things.) and Artificial Intelligence concepts in the planning, design, operation and management of Engineering Activities in various areas. The Association of Systems Engineering Students (ASES) consists of all students in the department, which is concerned with the general welfare of the students and aims at enlighten and connecting the students with industry opportunities. The body organizes seminars, workshops, training bootcamps and competitions to actively involve the students.
